Yup, it just goes UP, to the very top of the hill....It's like the stairway to heaven.
Jenya was a beast up that thing though, she made it in like 25 min, Kelc and I made it in 30. BUT it def felt like we had to stop and bit and I had to catch my breath. It was like at basketball practice where you had to run sprints and then when you stop, you put your hands on your knees gasping for air...except instead we made about 30 steps up then had to catch our breath. haha. It was like doing the stair master x100! BUT MAN...once you reach the top the breeze was awesome but the view was even better! It was also nice because it wasn't too hot and there seemed to be some breeze when we were walking up.
Look at those clouds....
360 view, it was windy up there!
After our HUGE accomplishment of making it to the top, I was HUNGRY....I was actually getting hungry as we were walking all the way up and down. Down was pretty hard too, kind of hard on your knees and I almost bit it a couple of times. There are some crazy people that run down that thing, but I guess some people do it like every weekend, multiple times. That definitely means they are SUPER in shape. So, after we work up an appetite I take them to Cinnamons in Kailua, which is a breakfast/brunch place that are known for their red velvet pancakes. I'm going to have to say, that I liked this place more then Boots and Kimos! I got the crab cake benedict, kelcie got blueberry pancakes with sausage and Jenya got a artichoke pesto omelette with a red velvet and guava pancake. We all shared the pancakes and OMG...i have to say the red velvet was my fav! My benedict was also really good too.
Jenya's artichoke/pesto omelette
Kelc blueberry pancakes, eggs and sausage
crab cake benedict...BOMB
Guava pancake and red velvet pancake. I liked the red velvet better.
After breakfast I show them my place and pack a bag for town; we were planning to go to yoga at 4:30 with Steffy at Power Yoga. I kind of take awhile to figure out what to pack, they were saying that they wanted to go clubbing, so I was figuring out what I wanted to wear plus I was just exhausted from the hike. By the time I pack and we get back to town is around 3:15 and since Kelc and Jenya are active yoga goers, they say we should be there at least 15-30 min before the class to sign up so we can't really go up and nap. :'( I def take a nap in the car though as they go upstairs to change. That 15 min power nap really helped because I felt a lot better after. We get to the yoga studio around 4pm, it's right by Buti Groove and sadly Steffy couldn't meet us there. :( But we still end up taking the class, it was from 4:30-6:00pm. OMG...I was sweating like a man again but felt really good after. I was trying to do one pose and definitely fell on my face, hahah but I was able to stand on my head with the support of a student. :) It felt pretty good to be so active today, felt like I sweat out all the bad toxins from the week.
After another hour and a half of working out, we go back to Kelcie's room and get cleaned up. We then meet Kelc friend Jeff for dinner at Siam Square which is walking distance from their hotel. I had pad thai (boring I know, but ooh so good.) And after sitting there and fading away because of our vigorous work outs all day, we decide not to go "clubbing." YAY...as the day went on, I was secretly hoping they didn't want to go anymore. ahha. So, after we say our good-byes and I venture back to Kalilua. Before I get home though I saw that gas was only $4.04 YAY...so I had to stop and get some. Then I did a load of laundry cuz' my work out clothes were disgusting and now I'm just lying in bed. I think it's time for netflix, gotta wake up early and meet up with Cierra and Hunter in the morning! :)
