Almost 3 weeks now and today was shave ice day. I wake up around 9:30am at Dev's house, eat some fried rice, watch part of Just Go With it and then head out to Waikiki. Living in town allowed me to get to work on time, in fact early! HAha.. Aaron was surprised when I got in at 11:0oam, I told him I was already in town so it wasn't soo bad. haha. The morning was pretty slow at our little shave ice stand but because I brought my computer with me, I was able to sit down with him and we got to design somethings...like t-shirts and the start of some flyers. He also wants me to do some business cards for him as well. I figure that when it's slow, I'll just design things...I'm just a little sad there's not free wifi, but I guess it helps me with all the distractions of talking online. haha. It seems like everyday we are getting a little more business, which is always good. I figure once the word gets out about the shop it'll pick up for sure. Uncle Alfred stopped by the shop because I guess he was driving back from playing golf. Auntie Arlene was back at the hotel, but I was able to introduce Aaron to him. Aaron thought Uncle Alfred was a local because he's so dark and the way he walks. haha. The super chill man. :) I stay at work until about 5pm because I am meeting Auntie Arlene and Uncle Alfred for dinner. They were in town for about 5 days, so they wanted to take me out. We end up going to
Side Street Inn and OMG..soo Ono. :) Trying to pick up the lingo out here, but they can still tell I"m from Cali. Ha.
Anyways we get kimchee fried rice, farmers salad with shrimp, fried pork chop, and their special ribs. There was SOO much food, we probably could've fed a family of 6, but there were only 3 of us. haha. We all got a cocktail as well because it was Uncle Alfred's 60th birthday. It was just nice to see faces from home and catch up. I told them I would be back in December so I will be able to see them again. They also got me a bottle of chardonnay.
I forgot to take a picture of all the food when it first came out,
but from left to right: Fried Porkchop, teriyaki ribs, farmers fresh salad with
shrimp and kimchee fried rice...all BOMB
Auntie Arlene, Me and Uncle Alfred
After dinner we say our goodbyes and then I head out to Kailua. Feels like I haven't been home in so, long! Basically cuz' I haven't, so I start doing a load of laundry and just take it easy tonight. Maybe I'll do some ab exercise, wash up and then MOVIE time on netflix. haha. I just hope my blanket comes in the mail sometime this week...I really miss it!
