11/17/11

I had an interview with MC&A Hawaii, which is a event and travel agency. Trish got my the hook up to talk to the Art Director there, so I was really lucky. I was totally nervous though, I haven't had an interview in a really long time. It was nice to talk to someone that was in the industry and the things that MC&A do are pretty awesome. A lot of their clients are fortune 500 companies, so the events they put together are nothing but GRAND. They said they did one event that was Jurasic Park themed, and they made a faux Jurasic Park sign and "electric" fence right where they filmed the movie. They do everything from brochures, invites, menus, letterheads, t-shirts giveaways, basically anything you can name, they have done. It looked like a lot of fun to work there, but also a lot of hard work. Unfortunately, they weren't hiring anyone full-time at the moment but he showed me a tour of the office and said we would keep in contact for some freelance, which was semi-hopeful. I wasn't tripping too much either, because I plan on going home for awhile during the holidays, so probably not the best time to apply for a job. =/

Anyways, it was nice to talk to someone in the industry, so hopefully I'll be able to do some freelance with them. After the interview I go back to Kailua and make myself some yakisoba, with the leftovers from dinner the other night. I have to say, it was pretty bomb, haha. I then update my blog, because I haven't had time since my relatives were in town and then get ready to head back into town because I have to go to work at Ailanas. Poor Aaron seemed pooped, he's been moving, working his other job and of course being a full-time dad. It's a tough job. Work is slow...but I was able to fill-up all the syrups. I left around 7 because I had to pick up Dev to go to Vinos, it was part of Hawaii Restaurant Week.

We got the tasting special, our first course was fresh mozzarella with tomatoes and calamari with salad. Our second course was a pasta dish, fresh pappardelle. Our third course was pan fried mahi with goat cheese stuffed pasta and fingerling potatoes. We also got pork belly and beans; both were really good, but it was a lot of food for the two of us. For dessert we got tiramisu and I was definitely stuffed.

I wasn't feeling too well, I think my vacation was catching up with me so I wanted to go home and rest. I was however pleasantly when I got a text from this guy. :) Made my day even more.

Gnight! Miss u lots!

MISS YOU TOO JAYDEN AND FAM! :)
