11.28.11

Monday

It's back to the grind of things...haha sorta. And I need to start working again before I go back home for the holidays. I start work at 4 in Kailua so I basically mosey around most of the day until work.

Work is slower then yesterday but it's nice to get back into the working mode. I need to make my holiday money! haha. The nice thing was that the first thing I get when I start is a platter or sashimi and kimchee rice. I guess there was a 160lb fish that came in earlier that morning so I got the super fresh kind. I close the shop and then head back into town because I am going to the driving range with Dev and Kam.

After we cruise at Dev's and play movie trivia...haha Dev T and Dev K are way too good at that game. haha

11.27.11

Today, I woke up, it was a lazy Sunday. Dev and I have to pick up a elliptical for Uncle David so we go to the Ala Moana mall. The first thing we do, get food! haha. We go to Goma Tei Ramen, and it was good. I still think Gomaichi is better, they have better char sui, but still really oishi.

After, we walk around the mall for some shopping. We were able to get some gifts for people back at home and picked up the elliptical from Sears. I had to get back because I had work in Kailua 4.

I get to theHibachi and it's pretty busy. Which helped make the time go by faster. We usually grill on the weekends at the store so I bought 2 burgers to take back to Auntie Jojo and Dev. The burgers are pretty Bomb, didn't really how tasty they were. You could really tell the difference b/w grass-fed meats and the other kind. I then put on Twilight because I haven't seen any of them and I kind of want to see the new one, so it's Twilight marathon tonight. :)

11.26.11

Today I woke up around 8:45am because Auntie Jojo and I were going to go the craft show at the Blaisdell theatre. It was pretty huge, there was already a crowd when it first opened, but it was nice to walk around and see all the different craft things. It was almost overwhelming though, there were so many vendors! I was able to find somethings and bought some presents for people back at home. I also got to try my first waffle dog! haha Which was pretty good, plus I was getting hungry. After the craft show I dropped Auntie Jojo back at her car because I had to go to pilates at 1pm, Steffy was going to teach a group of us.

She works at Pilates Advantage Hawaii and we got a private lesson from her. There was 6 of us, Trish, Marci, Kristy, Haylin, Tiara and Me, which was fun since we all have never done pilates before. I thought it was pretty neat, especially with the machines. We worked out for about 1.5 hours and then we head out to ala moana mall to get some lunch and walk around. The mall was crazy busy so it took us awhile to find parking. We end up eating at the Nordstrom Cafe and then walking around forever 21.

Pilates was fun and it was nice to hang out with the girls, but I was tired from the day and went back to take a nap. HAha...Dev was already home resting/napping, he went golfing in the AM so he was tired from the day too. It's amazing how tired I was after pilates, the movements aren't short and quick, but I guess they target muscles that I'm not used to, so it made me work harder!

We wanted to just chill tonight so we decided to go to Ichiriki for some late night snacking, it was actually really good because all day it was raining and overcast. It's nabe style, so you cook in front of you and it was BOMB. It was Marci, Brett, Neil, Kristy, Dev and I that went. After we were full from the nabe, we go back to Marci and Kristy's parents house and play poker. Baby brooke was up so we got to see her too. She's so, cute.

11.25.11

Day after thanksgiving and no black friday. It actually felt nice to be able to sleep in a bit, Dev and his brother Brad went to Best Buy right after their dinner, I guess they open at midnight and they wanted to get TVs. So, they didn't' get home til like after 1am, I was knocked out though.

Dev went golfing that day and I went to ward to do some holiday shopping. It wasn't too crowded at ward, which was nice because I'm not a huge fan of crowds, plus I was able to find some gifts for people back at home.

After shopping I call up Jenn and Jon to see what they were doing, because I wanted to go to the west side to see their Hotel and Aulani's (the disney hotel). I drive out that way, which takes me about 30min and meet them at their hotel. THeir view is beautiful and the room is really nice too. We chill in the room for a bit before we walk to Aulani's, which is literally right next door to their hotel. The disney hotel is really nice! It reminds me of the disney California hotel with the structure and all that. We walked through the hotel, saw the pool and all that, it was cool. We even got to see Chip and Dale! haha

It was nice to walk around on the west side, see the different hotels and all that. All the resorts over there are really nice, like every 2-3 hotels there is a cove with their own beach. We walked around until about sunset and I say my goodbyes to the family. Luckily I'll be home for the holidays, so, I'll see them soon!

the Girls by the water

watching the sunset

I then head back into town and go with Dev to Haylin's grandma's house for another post-thanksgiving dinner. It was nice, there was a good amount of people there, Haylin, Jimmy, Maddy, Marci, Brett, Kristy, Neil, Brooke, Tiara, Brandon, Haylin's grandma and cousins. Again there was a ton of food and zoo much dessert! I was stuffed again, but I guess thanksgiving weekend, you're supposed to feel like that. haa.

We chill at the house for a bit until we go to Best Buy, we had to pick up something :) and also bought a few things too. We had to go back to the house because we were supposed to go out for Brad's birthday, but instead we set up Dev's new tv and watched a movie and passed out. Nice to have a chill weekend! :)

11.24.11

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Today is thanksgiving and it feels weird that I am not at home during this holidays, but it's okay cuz' I got to spend time with some of my family and Dev's family too. We woke up and I started to make some rice pilaf, I was going to make some for Dev's grandma's house and later for my dinner thanksgiving with the Chu-yangs and Kent.

We leave Dev's house around 11:45, because we have to be at Grandma K by 12. There was a ton of food, like most Thanksgivings. :) I met Dev's grandma, grandpa, Auntie, Uncle and 2 younger cousins, plus his Uncle's parents. We had everything for thanksgiving, turkey, gravy, prime rib, yams, beans, stuffing, salad, poke, sushi, shrimp and more. All I know is that after I was stuffed and wanted to take a nap. :D

Dev was bbqin' the shrimp outside.

Dessert! We had a bunch

After I had to pick up my family dinner at Kahala Hotel. It was pretty cool because it was like a drive thru, you tell them your name and then they load up your car. It smelled so good, so Dev and I dropped off the food at Kent's apartment, because we weren't going to start eating until around 6, it was 3. We chilled around his place before I had to drop Dev off at his grandparents house, he had dinner at his Uncle's house later.

The dining table

I wanted to make rice pilaf for the girls, because that's one thing that I thought I couldn't mess up too much. Haha. Jenn, Jon, Alyson and Kailyn got to the house a little after 6, in the mean time Kent and I got some duck and then started warming up all the food. When the Chu-Yangs got there we skyped Auntie Linda's house to see our family. It was nice to see them all...haha, it was weird though not to be home with them. It did look like there was a lot of food, like always and we definitely had a bunch of food in Hawaii too. We had the turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, veggies, veggie salad, duck, bread, rice pilaf, poke and some ocean salad. After dinner we were stuffed and I was still sleepy from lunch, but we started to watch Cars 2. That movie is pretty funny but I fell asleep during it. Haha. I only snoozed for a little bit, but woke up when the Chu-Yangs were leaving :) All in all, it was a nice and relaxing thanksgiving, I just missed my family bunch. The nice thing about it was that I wasn't hungover the next day! haha.

11.23.11

Today I wake up around 8:30 because I am meeting up with Lauren and Glen. They are heading back to Cali for Thanksgiving, so I was going to drop them off at the airport. I head over to Lauren and Glens are around 9:30 because Lauren and I are going out to breakfast. Glen was still sleeping...haha.

Lauren and I go to the Original Pancake House on Kapiolani. It was good, I got the strawberry crepes and Lauren got corn beef hash and eggs. Both were good, but it was just nice to catch up with my girl Lauren. :) They were planning on heading back home today and staying until Monday night, so I'll probably have to pick them up after work. I just told them, I hope you brought your long pants and sweatshirts! After being out here for 2 months, I think I'm already used to the weather, the kind where it maybe raining, but you can still wear shorts and slippahs. haha. :)

After breakfast (and getting lost in the building, trying to find the parking garage) we go back to the apartment to pick up Glen. We bring him back our leftovers, but of course he only eats the meat. LoL. We chill at the apartment for a bit until I go drop them off at the airport for back home, which is a little after 12.

I then head back to Kailua because I want to pick up somethings to make rice pilaf, like a pot, the rice, chicken broth, noodles and butter...so just about everything. ahha. I also go on a 2.25mi run out here, I like to run to the beach and back. :) It's nice running in Kailua because there is a nice breeze, plus it's flat. I then go to Safeway to pick up the chicken broth and stop by Ninja Sushi and get tofu salad. I want to stay on this "healthy" craze right now, since I feel like I gained 5 lbs after Erin and Courts visit. :P I chill at the house for a bit, updating my blog...haha and working on side jobs and then I head into town to go on another run and then driving range!

11.22.11

Today I wake up pretty late because I don't have to go into work. It's been slow so Aaron doesn't need me to come in. I basically catch up on my blog and do some side-job type of things. I also do some laundry, I was debating to go see Jenn and Jon out by their hotel, but they were on the North Shore, so I didn't want to rush them before they go to their luau.

I then head out to Kailua and do some laundry, get the mail and do some errands on this side of the island. I want to make Okonomiyaki because I had napa from when Erin was in town, so I needed to use it. But before that I go running, I run to the beach and back which is only about 2.25 mi roundtrip. After, I'm feeling good, but getting hungry, so I go to Foodland to pick up some eggs and in hope to find some Okonomiyaki sauce. Sadly, they don't sell Okonomiyaki sauce or Kewpie (the japanese mayonnaise). I instead buy some long grain rice and noodles so that I can make some rice pilaf for thanksgiving. MAN...it really doesn't seem like Thanksgiving is in a couple days, I think it's because I'm not home with my family. :(

After I go to the store I come back to the condo and start prepping for Okonomiyaki. I had some frozen bacon, so I fry that up, cut up my napa and use green onions, eggs, flour and water. Super simple but it actually turned out good! I just used tonkatsu and reg mayo with some hot sauce. I need to get me some Kewpie mayo though, just not the same. I also made Okonomiyaki way too big, cuz I could only eat about half of it. haha.

I know it doesn't look that appetizing, I put too much mayo on it.
But once you scrap off some of the mayo, it was actually pretty good
...I was proud of myself. haha

After I finish up my laundry, I head back into town because Dev and I are going to go to the driving range...I haven't hit my clubs since court brought them so I was pretty excited. Dev makes dinner for this family and then we head to the range. MAN how I missed my clubs, didn't realize you do until you finally hit your own after awhile. :) Being at the range also made me want to get back into the game. We then go to Loren's house to cruise, his grandma just passed away :( So, we wanted to stop by. Like any other day, we were cruising in the backyard but this time with Loren's dad. His dad is hilarious, he could TALK. haha. But it was cool, he was talking to me about one thing or another, haha it was a very chill night.

11.21.11

Today is Monday and the work week starts again...sorta. Ahah. I don't have work until 12 at Ailana's so yes, I get to sleep in. :) I pick up some Soon's Korean BBQ for Aaron and I and then head to Waikiki to work. I guess it's been really slow, so Aarons been kind of down. It was sort of slow so I stay until about 4, but first I go to Alter Ego and get Brad and Kelsie a shirt for their birthdays.

I get back to Dev's around 4:30-4:45 and get ready for Brad's 22nd birthday dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. Brad, Kelsie, Uncle, Auntie, Bryce, Grandma K, Dev and I were all there for Brad's 22nd birthday. It was nice and the food was good. After we buy a ice-cream cake and head back to the house. We play a game called Malarky, which is a persuasive game. It was pretty funny, I'm pretty horrible at it but it was funny to hear people's responses. After, Dev and I went on a run for about a mile...SOMEONE was having a hard time breathing haha dev.. :) I am trying to get back into shape, I've gained like 5lbs. WAHH.

11/20/11

I woke up around 10am because I was going to meet up with Jenn and Jon for lunch at Cinnamons. They arrived yesterday, so it was nice to see them while they are out here. We meet up with Jenn, Jon, Alyson and Kailyn at 12 at Cinnamons. I think they had a good first day coming in and seemed like they were already on the way to eating through Hawaii. :) I think they liked the food at Cinnamons, Alyson killed her Kalua Pig benedict and Jon killed his "Hawaiian" omelette that had lau lau, butterfish and kalua pig, I had a chili omelette, Jenn had the guava chiffon pancakes and red velvet pancake; Dev got the crab cake benedict. After we ate I had everyone over to see my place in Kailua, haha. It was nice to show them my minimal living space. haha.

They then went to Waikiki and I had to stay in Kailua because I had work at 3. Work was chill, pretty slow but it was nice to be doing something. haha. Grant made me fried rice, but I didn't want to eat too much because I was going to meet up with the Chu-yangs and Kent at Side St after I got off work.

Dev and I end up getting to Side St around 8:45-9, it was nice to see them but the girls were pretty tired. They were about 2 hours ahead so, I think the girls were ready to go home and sleep. Especially since they needed to wake up bright and early to head back into town for a tour the next morning. Work tomorrow, so gotta call it a early night! :)

11/19/11

Today I had to wake up semi early because I was going to take Cierra and Hunter to the Children's Discovery Museum to see Jack Johnson! I make Devin come with me so he can help run around with Hunter. :) We pick up the kids at 9:30 and then head to the Children's Museum, I'm pretty sure I am more excited then the kids are. There are a lot of toddlers and young families there, I think Cierra and Hunter were one of the older kids. The kids got Curious George posters and the venue was nice and intimate. It was outside and we sat on the grass, but every seat was pretty close, so it was fun...probably more fun then last nights concert. O.o

Cierra

Hunter hitting Cierra with his poster, the beginning of him running around.

Jack!!

Autographs with Jack!

After the concert we got autographs and then went to the Children's Museum. I told Dev you can hang with Hunter and I'll hang with Cierra...haha. The museum was pretty cool a lot of hands on stuff. I think Hunter got bored though because all he wanted to do was run and play hide and seek. Haha so, everytime I saw Dev, I was like, "where's Hunter?" He was always running around, haha. We had to be back by 12:15 because Hunter had a reading class to go to, so right before we went home, we went to Ailana's in Ala Moana for some shave ice. Everyone got strawberry milk and it was yum like always.

We then dropped the kids off and Kirk had dim sum at the house waiting for us. MMmMmm...dim sum was really good. We weren't able to stay for very long though because we had to go to Dev's grandpas house to pick up a kamado style bbq oven. That thing was heavy but we finally made it onto his truck. We then brought it back to the house and rested before we had dinner at Dev's cousins house in Ewa area. Dev knocked out and I had FaceTime home because it was Dad's 60th Birthday party that I was missing out. :( My dad was a mess, but looked like he had a great time. There was lots of tears and laughter, and I was really sad that I missed out.

The Tsukahira Kids

Happy 60th Birthday Dad!

Popo and Nana also wore mustaches!

Tyler 20 years from now

Dad's Nephew's loves their uncle

Man, I wish I was there, it definitely looked like a ton of fun and I was sad I missed out. But I know that there was videos and footage so I will be able to see it when I get home. I then get off FaceTime with the fam and Dev and I head out to Ewa area to have dinner at his cousins house. It was his grandparents, mom, brother bryce, Jaycee, her boyfriend, her boyfriends parents and Jaycee's son Aaden. The food was really good and it was nice to relax and eat some good home cooked meals. We had fish, some chinese food, salad, deep fried tako and then we ended it with a oreo pie.

After dinner we go to John's house because they were having a bbq, we chilled there for a bit and then went back to Dev's house for beer pong. It was Neil's birthday so they came by, wendi, dev t, marci and brett all cruised by. It was a fun night. :)

11/18/11

Today, I wake up and open Ailana's, it was a pretty good day, semi slow but not as slow as it's been. I was also not feeling 100% but lasted from 10-3:30. :) Aaron got us some frozen pizzas and we made that for lunch. After, I was ready to go home and rest for awhile because we were supposed to go to Black Star concert in Chinatown, with Paul, Bo, Tricia, Dev, Kelsie and some other people at around 7pm.

I get to Devs at around 4 and pass out until Dev get's back from golf. Dev get's home at around 6:30 and then showers up and we get ready to meet up with the group of people. We meet them at a bar that was close to the Hawaii Theatre. Blackstar was supposed to start at 7pm...but they didn't actually go on stage until around 9pm...which was kind of whack. I think it was kind of sucky because we didn't know all their songs, so let's just say Lil' Wayne was waaayy better.

Dev and I left early because we rode together and we end up going to John's sister's birthday party at Lisa's House, which is a bar that's kind of ghetto, but fun because all of Dev's friends were there. We had to go home early because we were waking up semi-early to babysit Kirk's kids.

11/17/11

I had an interview with MC&A Hawaii, which is a event and travel agency. Trish got my the hook up to talk to the Art Director there, so I was really lucky. I was totally nervous though, I haven't had an interview in a really long time. It was nice to talk to someone that was in the industry and the things that MC&A do are pretty awesome. A lot of their clients are fortune 500 companies, so the events they put together are nothing but GRAND. They said they did one event that was Jurasic Park themed, and they made a faux Jurasic Park sign and "electric" fence right where they filmed the movie. They do everything from brochures, invites, menus, letterheads, t-shirts giveaways, basically anything you can name, they have done. It looked like a lot of fun to work there, but also a lot of hard work. Unfortunately, they weren't hiring anyone full-time at the moment but he showed me a tour of the office and said we would keep in contact for some freelance, which was semi-hopeful. I wasn't tripping too much either, because I plan on going home for awhile during the holidays, so probably not the best time to apply for a job. =/

Anyways, it was nice to talk to someone in the industry, so hopefully I'll be able to do some freelance with them. After the interview I go back to Kailua and make myself some yakisoba, with the leftovers from dinner the other night. I have to say, it was pretty bomb, haha. I then update my blog, because I haven't had time since my relatives were in town and then get ready to head back into town because I have to go to work at Ailanas. Poor Aaron seemed pooped, he's been moving, working his other job and of course being a full-time dad. It's a tough job. Work is slow...but I was able to fill-up all the syrups. I left around 7 because I had to pick up Dev to go to Vinos, it was part of Hawaii Restaurant Week.

We got the tasting special, our first course was fresh mozzarella with tomatoes and calamari with salad. Our second course was a pasta dish, fresh pappardelle. Our third course was pan fried mahi with goat cheese stuffed pasta and fingerling potatoes. We also got pork belly and beans; both were really good, but it was a lot of food for the two of us. For dessert we got tiramisu and I was definitely stuffed.

I wasn't feeling too well, I think my vacation was catching up with me so I wanted to go home and rest. I was however pleasantly when I got a text from this guy. :) Made my day even more.

Gnight! Miss u lots!

MISS YOU TOO JAYDEN AND FAM! :)

11/16/11

Wahh...we have to drop Erin off at the airpot...sadness...

We wake up semi late because we had a late last night, so I ask Erin what she feels like eating and she said RAMEN...GOMAICHI it is again. haha. And yes, it's definitely as good as the first time. :) Luckily our food came out quick because we still needed to go to Costco for Erin to pick up some chocolates and I needed to get gas. That was probably the fastest Costco run we have ever made, we were in and out in like 15 min. SCORE. After, I had to drive Erin back to the airport.... :(

After I drop Erin off, I go back and work on my portfolio/resume because I am meeting with the head graphic designer at MC&A Hawaii tomorrow morning. Since I had a filled week with Erin and Courtney in town, I was pretty exhausted. I decide to make it a chill night and go to the movies to see Immortals, that movie was pretty SICK. It reminded me of a movie that my dad would love. So, DAD if you're reading this, go watch it this weekend with your son, or your BF, totally worth it. :)

11/15/11

We wake up rejuvinated for Koko head! Chris Takakuwa really wanted Erin to try hiking up Koko head after we tackled Moana Falls. I was excited to try it again, plus I wanted to beat my time from last time. We sleep in a bit, but finally manage to get to Koko head around 10am. It wasn't too hot, but the sun was definitely up. Like last time, yes, Koko head was tough, as Erin would say, worst then Nak's conditioning. haha. But we made it in 28 mins and the view is ALWAYS worth it. It was clear and beautiful, I think we stayed up there for awhile because the trek up was so intense, we wanted to just take in the view. The way down was a lot faster, we ended up trotting down and my legs felt like Jello when we got to the bottom. I was proud of us though, we accomplished KOKO HEAD! :) I think Erin was happy that we did that too, totally worth it though. After Koko head we felt we deserved some shave ice, so, Chris really wanted to take us to Waiolas, I guess I could try the competition...

Waiolas was pretty good, the ice is really soft, like snow. And they came in cups, so it wasn't overwhelming, but I really wanted to take Chris to Ailana's because c'mon no one can really beat our syrups. :) So, after Waiolas we go to Ailana's in Waikiki and see Aaron. I then give Chris and Aaron a shave ice sample bar and let them try almost every flavor. I think I converted Chris into a Ailana shave ice lover. It's just hard because most locals do not want to go into Waikiki, we then were on a mission to get Erin a loco moco, because she hasn't eaten one yet. So, we go to Aqua Cafe, Erin get's the Loco Moco, I get a Chicken sandwhich and Chris get's a salad...haha. He wanted to stay refreshed after Koko head.

Erin said that was the best Loco Moco she has ever had and the chicken sandwich was also really good. I think Chris salad was just okay...haha. We were all pretty exhausted after the hike, so we go back to Kailua to shower and pack up, it's Erin's last night in Hawaii...WAHH..

We go back to Kailua and after showering/napping/packing we go venture into Kailua town in need of a mani/pedi. We were going to go to B&J's nails but they were too busy so instead we go to Stephanie's nail shop which was down the street. It was really, really relaxing especially after hiking Koko head, our feet needed some massaging. :) After our relaxing mani/pedi we go pick up some food from Hibachi's and then head into town because as we started Erin's trip in Hawaii at Dev's parents house, we will end it there as well. People were going to come over for dinner and then cruising in the garage. There was a ton of food, Auntie made chicken, beef, we had salmon, poke, spinach and opah skewers. Haylin, Maddy, Jimmy, Marci, Brett, John, Wendy, Bo, Lorin, Dev T and Tonya all came by. It was a great way to end Erin's trip in Hawaii, I'm just going to be sad when she leaves... :(

11/14/11

WAHH, it's Court's last day in Hawaii :(

We wake up and go on a mission to finish Court's shopping and first stop...COSTCO! She gets some omiyage' candy to take back home and then we go to Soon's Kal-Bi Drive Inn. It's a hole in the wall, but their meat jun is really good.

Court's meat jun and pot stickers.

I got meat jun and bbq chicken, Erin got the bento and got everything. Mark also met us there and I think he got bbq chicken. We then had to drop Court off at the airport because her flight was around 2, WAHH. It was a short visit, but I hope she had fun coming out here.

After dropping Court off, Erin and I go back to Kailua. We haven't been there for awhile...haha and we go to Kailua beach park. That was really relaxing because we got to just chill, we jumped in the water and veggied out. The plan was to super chill in Kailua, break in the kitchen and relax because we were going to Koko head in the AM with Chris. After the beach we go back to my place and straight wait around because we were doing laundry and I didn't have enough towels. haha So, we were sitting around the apartment for a hour in our bathing suits...haha HOT. LoL. Finally laundry was all done and Chris came out to Kailua. We then go grocery shopping and pick up some poke from Hibachis. We got lucky because Grant, one of the guys I work with gave us a bunch of salmon belly, collar and bones, so we were able to eat that. The meal consisited of garlic, bacon string beans, salmon poke, kim-chee and salmon collar, belly and bones. It was all really good and fun to cook in the "new" kitchen. Since, I do not have furniture in my place we ate on my 4 chairs and then we played Mexican train on the floor. haha. It was a super chill night and I think Erin was happy to sleep in a firm big bed, until the child above woke her up in the AM. haaha. :)

11.13.11

Sunday morning, we wake up and start getting ready to head back into town. We clean up and then leave the beach house at around noon. On the way back Mark told us about this shack looking place that has really good LauLau, so we wanted to find it to try it out. We drove for about 15 min before we found it and yes, it does look like a shack. It's called the Waiahole Poi Factory and YES, it is pretty amazing. Bo got Kaulua Pig, Erin and I got LauLau and Court got this squid luau thing which she LOVED. haha We got like one bite each haha.

Court's squid luau

We then get back to Bo's shower up a bit and then head out to Ala Moana mall because the girls want to go shopping. I think it was a pretty successful shopping trip for Court because she was able to get quite a few things...let's just say we love VS Pink. haha. After shopping we were going to our cousin Kirk's house for dinner and it was really nice. They live on the 36th floor of their building, the view was amazing! It was also pretty neat because as we were up there, we saw the police shut down a road because a dictator was traveling. We think it was Obama, just because we want to say that we "saw him" in a car. :) It was actually pretty neat, because we were able to see exactly where they traveled and how far they shut down the roads, probably a lot better that we were watching and not stuck in the traffic.

Dinner was really good, Kirk, Cynthia, Kirk's Mom, her sister, Cierra and Hunter were all there for dinner. Kirk made turkey, stuffing, salmon, potstickers, laulau, corn, gravy and there was also poke, I was stuffed after. We then had some dessert and stayed for awhile until we left to Dev's house. Court hasn't seen Auntie Jojo and Uncle David, so we went to go visit them before Courtney had to leave. We played Mexican Train, which is like a domino game. It's semi hard to explain, so Auntie Jojo explained it to us. I guess we have beginners luck because Erin ended up winning. After, we end up watching "The Devil" which was creepy. Court fell asleep (of course) and after freaking ourselves out we venture back to Bo's. wah, it's court's last night in Hawaii...but I think it was nice to take it easy.

11.12.11

Day 2 at the beach house, we wake up to the smell of homemade pho...MmmM. :) Paul own's his pho restaurant Ha Long Noodle House, and he brought all the yumminess to the beach house. He brought all the meats and every "order" was made to order. It was freakin delicious and great for the day after "WINNING". haha We just layed around and relaxed all day, it was beautiful. We even played volleyball, we had to let some of the private schoolers win, so they got to win a game. haha. Later, Mark, Gina, Lauren, Glen, Jacquie, Bubba and Mike stopped by the beach house. It was really nice to see my Mainlander friends.

Paul caught a eel, it was pretty cool looking.

Later that night we watch the Pacquiao fight. Which was pretty good, he was playing pretty timid though, I thought he was going to lose by the way he was boxing but glad he won. For the rest of the night we chilled, made a bonfire on the beach and relaxed. You should ask Erin and Courtney how they felt about the weekend too. :)

11.11.11

Today is 11.11.11

Today we are going snorkeling! We wake up early and head to Waikiki, we are scheduled to leave the dock around 9:30am and out to see around 10am. When we get out to the water we see about 3 sea turtles already swimming around. This was the first time I actually went snorkeling and it was fun/scary. The guy driving the boat kept throwing fish food towards us, so we were kind of freaking out having all the fish come by us. Hhaha...I'm pretty sure he was laughing at us at the same time. Either laughing at us screaming or laughing at me trying to swim. :) After snorkeling we are hungry so we want RAMEN!

Gomaichi it is!! Gomaichi has really bomb.com ramen, we all get Tan Tan ramen with different meats and gyoza.

After ramen, we go back to Bo's house because I have to get ready for work and Erin and Court are going to the beach house in punaluu. Work is semi-stressful...haha. We didn't have that many syrups, the azuki beans were still hot, it was just pretty crazy. haha. Dev then comes and picks me up and we make our way to Punaluu to the beach house. Shima, Bo, Dan, Tam, Court, Amanda, Trih, Leanne, Erin, Paul, Dev and I were all staying there Friday night. We had a night of "Public School" vs. "Private School" with flip cup, beer pong and taboo...and guess who won?! PUBLIC SCHOOL!! WOO...Undeafeated all day baby. :)

11/10/11

I show Court and E my place, we also find out that Court's meeting got switched to another day...so we really didn't have to get up so early. We then change to go hiking and then head to Cinnamons. It was a debate between Cinnamons and Boots and Kimos, but Cinnamons won! We get the Hawaiian omelette, red velvet pancake, guava chiffon pancake, portuguesse sausage, spinach and mushroom potatoes. ALL were pretty freaking bomb.

We then head into town because we are meeting up with Erin's friend Chris to hike Manoa Falls. And we decide to hike past Manoa Falls up to the reservoir...but OMG...that was strenuous! It was about a 8mi roundtrip, it was muddy and raining....but totally worth it once we got to the top...sorta. HAha..it was pretty fun though, we were trying to avoid the muddy/wet spots by climbing along the bamboo. Making the trek up, I was like "We are making it to the top!" On the way down I was SOO over it and ready to get off that mountain. Plus, we were wet, tired and hungry.

We made it!

ONO Seafood!!

Miso Poke bowl

Spicy Ahi Poke Bowl

Because we have dinner at 8pm at Izakaya Gaku, we didn't want to eat too much and we wanted to rest some too. So, we go take a nap at le resort de Bo's, Bo "Lei's" Erin and then head out to Izakaya Gaku.

Natto mix

We ordered almost everything...I think my favorite was the uni shooter, you could taste like every layer in that thing...and I don't' even know what was in it. After dinner we went to TSUNAMIS! Ahhaha, the infamous Tsunamis and yeah...it was fun. I'm pretty sure Erin had a good dirty 30 birthday!!
